Meet the team

Naoya Ojima (Owner & tour guide)
Blood type AHe was born in 1976 in Saitama. After graduating high school, he lived in Michigan and Oregon US. After coming back to Japan, he helped his friend’s business and after that worked at jewelry brand. Then he moved to Iriomote with his wife, Reiko. He is the father of two wild sons! He has been working as a tour guide over fourteen years in Iriomote island, as certified guide by Okinawa kayak guide association. He takes rescue training session by Okinawa kayak guide association, CPR and AED training session, and kayak rescue and skill training session every year for multiple times continuing to improve his skill and make sure the safe tour.
He met canoe( sea kayak Canadian) when he was in high school helping the nature center in Shikaribetsu Hokkaido, then he got fascinated with the job in wildness.
Let’s play in Iriomote’s nature together!I’m looking forward to seeing you!!

Reiko Ojima (Hotel NEST Owner/Office Administrator)

She is a mother of 2 boys. She loves swimming at beach and takeing walk around with big dog ”Fico” and also drinking with everyone. Her goal is to make you want to come back to Iriomote again!

Azu Kashiwa (Tour guide & Hotel NEST Staff )

She is from Kanagawa. She use to lived in Okinawa main land few years ago. Now she decide to move to Iriomote Island as a tour guide, and also NEST staff. She cook well!!
Her hobby is taking photo and cooking.

She loves Island Life. She is looking forward to see you and go tour with you!!

Kotaro Suzuki (Tour guide ＆Hotel NEST Staff)

He decide to work here as tour guide and Hotel staff. He just graduated University from Tokyo. Everything are new living Iriomote Island for him, so his interest is everything. He had an experience studying abroad in Australia when he was in th University, so he could communicate foreign tourists by English.
He enjoy tour guide and meet people from the world.

Shinya Takemoto (Tour guide ＆Hotel NEST Staff)

He is a friend of owner Nao from High school. He lived in Kanagawa and worked as a fisherman. Finally, he decide to move Iriomote Island with his wife and 3 years daughter. He is training with a harpoon fish for his daughter now. He loves being in a nature.
