Standing at a massive 55 meters, Pinaisara is the undisputed landmark of Iriomote Island. This full-day tour is for those who want to see the island from its highest natural vantage point and feel the power of the water from below.

The Journey to the Top & Bottom

Mangrove Kayak: A scenic paddle through the wide Hinai River, surrounded by some of the oldest mangrove trees in Japan.
The Climb: Hike through a beautiful mountain path. It’s a challenge, but the reward is unmatched.
The “Edge of the World”: Stand at the top of the falls. As you sit near the edge, you will look out over the turquoise ocean, the coral reefs, and the endless green jungle canopy. It is the most famous view in Okinawa!
The Basin Pool: We also trek to the base of the falls. Looking up at 55 meters of falling water is a humbling and powerful experience.

In the local dialect:

“Pinai” = Beard
“Sara” = Waterfall From a distance, the thin, white stream of water looks like the long, flowing white beard of a wise old man watching over the island.

However…

＊The trek to Pinaisara Waterfall is not an easy task. If I had to make an analogy, it would be like walking back and forth up about 2000 steps to the basin of the waterfall and top of the waterfall.

Please refrain from participating if you are not confident in your legs, back, and hip.

✅ What to Bring

Hydration: Please bring 500ml to 1000ml of drinking water per person.
Dry Clothes: If you are visiting from Ishigaki, please bring a full change of clothes for the return journey.
Swimwear: Please wear your swimsuit underneath your trekking/kayaking clothes. Be ready to get wet!

Rough Time Table
9:00	Shuttle service (pick customer up at their hotel or sea port).

9:30	Arrive Staging point Mare River, for quick class/lesson for Kayaking tour.

10:00	Depart on tour (start kayaking the Hinai river). about 30-40 min

11:00	Arrive destination (upper reach Hinai River) to start Hiking to the Top or Basin (Depending on the day).

11:50	Arrive at the top or Basin (depending the day ) of the Pinaisara Waterfalls.

12:00~13:00	lunch break

13:00	Hike to the basin of the Waterfalls .

14:00	Arrive at the basin.Rest and relaxation, water play and tee time.

14:40	Hike back to the upper reach of the Hinai River .

15:00	Arrive at the upper reach of the Hinai River (start Kayaking down the river).

16:00	Arrive staging point.
